At ONG Toki, we understand environmental care as a profound cultural responsibility, working to serve as a bridge between ancestral Rapa Nui wisdom and the sustainable solutions of the present.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We promote ecological education rooted in identity, and we act as agents of change\nin the protection of the territory and the island\u2019s self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n
Likewise, we carry out practical workshops and talks at Toki, in schools, and in\ncommunity organizations, fostering reflection on Rapa Nui, the island\u2019s condition as\none of the world\u2019s seven major waste vortexes, and the need to serve as an example\nfor the world.<\/p>\n
Collaboration with specialized organizations in this field is key. We are strategic partners of the Plastic Oceans Foundation and members of the global Blue\nCommunities program, <\/b>whose motto is \u201cWe can and must act locally to accelerate change at a global level\u201d.<\/p>\n
In addition, we are part of the Environmental Education Network, <\/b>an initiative that brings together diverse local institutions, organizations, and community groups\u2014led by the Municipality\u2014with the aim of jointly addressing major social, environmental,\nand cultural challenges.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, fuimos organizadores de las charlas Cambiando Mentes, Cambiando Mundos y del Festival Internacional de Innovaci\u00f3n Social (fiiS) realizado en Rapa Nui. El primero era un encuentro que buscaba soluciones a las problem\u00e1ticas a trav\u00e9s de la innovaci\u00f3n, vinculando al mundo privado, p\u00fablico y emprendedores. El segundo por su parte ten\u00eda como prop\u00f3sito acelerar la transformaci\u00f3n cultural – a trav\u00e9s de una acci\u00f3n global – para lograr el Desarrollo Sostenible, inspirando una conciencia masiva, visibilizando la acci\u00f3n colectiva, celebrando la colaboraci\u00f3n y destacando la importancia de avanzar hacia una soberan\u00eda alimentaria.<\/p>\n
